Marcia Neblett is a Georgia based, New York City born artist who works with drawing, painting, printmaking and book arts, but is best known for her drawings and woodblock prints. She studied fine arts at Cornell University and the Arts Students League of New York before receiving a B.F.A. degree from Purchase College, the State University of New York and an M.F.A. degree in Painting and Printmaking from Stony Brook University. Her drawings and prints have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the US and Asia in venues as diverse as the AIR Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, The High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, The Bronx Museum of the Arts in the Bronx, and The Lalit Kala Akademi in Chennai, India. Marcia is a recipient of grants from the Fulbright Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, the Jerome Foundation and the New York Foundation for the Arts. The New York Times, The Hindu and Indian Express reviewed Marcia’s work commenting on her use of a traditional medium and contemporary theme. Marcia is a Professor of Foundations Studies, (Drawing and Design) at The Savannah College of Art and Design.
